Life in a photographers world…

Arizona

I wrote previously about my trip to Arizona and had shared some of my landscape photographs.  While not passionate about landscapes usually, the beauty and awe I felt as I traveled through Arizona inspired me to capture what I saw on “film”.  As I walked around small towns however my eyes drifted back to more of my “vision” and I photographed those scenes that “spoke” to me.  My hosts were a bit perplexed to find me wandering down alley’s in search of the perfect lines, pausing in front of a shop not to look in the windows but rather to photograph the door.  Here are a few images from Bisbee Arizona.

Happy New Year!

It is now the 26th and I’m a little late in my welcome the new year blog entry.  This year was jump started with my trip to Arizona to attend the PPA (Professional Photographers Association) conference in Phoenix.  What a jump start it was to my professional and personal photography life.  I extended my trip to include several days of sightseeing and photographing as I had never been to Arizona before.  The road extends for ever and the sunsets are jaw dropping.  I learned that it is not a good idea for me to be behind the wheel at sunset.   I spent to much time looking at the ever changing sky and not enough on the road.

I arrived with only the minimalists of plans.  I had made arrangements to stay with friends prior to the conference.  Other then that I was winging it.  I picked up every brochure at the airport picked up my car (with GPS rental) and off I went exploring.  On my way do my friends house I took roads that looked interesting and stopped at a National Park  along the way.  I can’t describe the scenery only to say it looked like places I had only seen on TV and in pictures and was so different from the east coast.  I have included a few pictures from that first day.
